Recommended arrival: Arrive early for the best experience
One of the best venues around. I’ve seen too many great shows here to recall, but the staff is great, the bands are always on point, and it’s just that right size of big enough to get lost in crowd if you want, or small enough to be an intimate experience. If you ever get the opportunity to go upstairs, it’s worth it!
Always a Great Show. Got some cool history there ,way back when The Box, Kennel Club and Justice League. Nice Staff. View from stage right perfect line of sight to band. Highly Recommend.
Based solely on one Thursday night (6.9.23) visit (The Blue Stones 💎, The Velveteers, and JAKE), The Independent is a fantastic venue I will happily return to any chance I get.
1) Parking is a total nightmare, get there as early as possible if you can to find a space. If you don't know how to parallel park, you might be out of luck. The area as a whole is safe/mostly residential. 2) The venue is a perfect size with a great staff. 3) The sound is amazing - didn’t need earplugs. 4) If you're disabled they will treat you right.
Edit 6.13.25: Another Thursday night in June, another Blue Stones show. Two years later, everything noted previously still applies.
